The dual-radar microwave vehicle detector of our traffic information acquisition and release system is a product for detecting traffic data such as traffic flow, average vehicle speed, vehicle type and lane occupancy rate in real time with help of the digital radar microwave detection technology.

The detector operates in the way below: It can be hung on the side of a street lamp post or a special column. Vehicles are detected when passing through the radar wave areas emitted by the microwave generator. The detector has two built-in radar transceivers that generate two microwave beams projecting two detection areas on the road surface. Each time a vehicle passes through one of the detection areas, a microwave signal will be reflected to the detector. Speed and other traffic information of the vehicle will be obtained accurately after complicated computation and analysis. A detector can detect the traffic flows, road occupancy rates and vehicle speeds of eight lanes at the same time.

Through certain information transmission media, the traffic information acquisition and release system is actually a traffic control mode providing traffic participants with practical traffic information and reminding, suggesting or controlling them to choose the best routes to avoid or reduce delay and losses.

It has two information guidance modes, i.e. a static one and a dynamic one. In the modes set by users, it can display information related to the contents entered by users, including weather, traffic facility overhaul, driving of special vehicles and the real-time traffic information of roads acquired by traffic signal control system, traffic flow acquisition systems and traffic video monitoring systems.
