December 20, 2016 was the 17th anniversary of Macau's return. As a new preferential policy for Macau, single-license-plate motor vehicles of Macao were allowed on that day to enter and leave Hengqin, which was a gift for the anniversary. On the starting ceremony held at Hengqin Port, Huang Shaoze, the head of Security Department of Macao Special Administrative Region Government, and Zheng Renhao, the mayor of Zhuhai City, jointly started the ¡°golden key¡±, beginning to allow the single-license-plate motor vehicles of Macao to enter and leave Hengqin. It was the first time mainland China was opened to the single-license-plate motor vehicles of Macao.
