Our new self-service customs clearance products have been appearing in the exit areas of airports and border ports to make customs clearance more convenient. Are you ready to experience them? On August 19, 2016, the Ministry of Public Security of the People’s Republic of China extended self-service customs clearance to the following inbound and outbound passengers: the people of mainland China exiting with an ordinary e-passport with fingerprint information, the Chinese citizens with a one-year multiple-entry-exit pass and fingerprint and face information collected by border inspection authorities, and the foreigners with a foreign e-passport, a residence permit allowing more than six months of residence in China and fingerprint and face information collected by border inspection authorities.

Passengers allowed for self-service exit/entry？
1. Inbound Chinese passengers already with their fingerprint information or ordinary e-passport collected;
2. Registered passengers of mainland China with a fingerprint record and electronic Exit-Entry Permit for Travelling to and from Hong Kong and Macao or a valid VISA to Hong Kong SAR/ Macao SAR;
3. Registered passengers of mainland China with a Exit-Entry Permit for Travelling to and from Hong Kong and Macao, Exit-Entry Permit for Travelling to and from Hong Kong and Macao, visa for one-year multi-entry to Hong Kong/Marco, mainland residents with Pass to Taiwan, or visa for one-year multi-entry to Taiwan;
4. Registered Hong Kong or Marco residents with a Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao;
5. Registered Taiwan passengers with a Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents, visa for one-year (included) or above multi-entry-exit to mainland China, or residence visa;
6. Registered foreigners with a filed foreign passport or a Foreigner’s Permanent Residence Card;
7. Registered Chinese flight crew serving on regular international flights, filed foreign flight crew members allowed for visa-free entry or filed foreign flight crew members with a one-year (including) or above crew visa (C) or employment visa (Z) or a residence card;
8. Chinese citizens with a one-year multiple-entry-exit pass and their fingerprints and facial images collected by border inspection authorities;
9. Foreigners with an electronic foreign passport, a residence card allowing for more than six months of residence in China and their fingerprints and facial images collected by border inspection authorities

How to use self-service customs clearance product?
Three steps: passport punching, fingerprint collection and face recognition (six to ten seconds only)? So Easy！
Step 1Placing of the identity document
For an ordinary e-passport, place it flatly on the glass of the reader, with the side with the national emblem facing up. The reader will read the information in the e-passport chip automatically;
For an identity card, place it on top left of the reader, making the side with a machine-readable code facing down;
For another identity document, open it and place it on the reader, making the information page facing down.
The reader can finish information reading within 4 seconds or so. Do not move the identity document in the period. After information reading, the first gate will be opened automatically.
Step 2Fingerprint collection and facial image taking
After going through the first gate, stop in front of the equipment in the Biometric Feature Comparison Area, face the camera on the equipment and put the finger for fingerprint collection during identity document preparation into the fingerprint collection area. It needs about 3 seconds in all. After that, the second gate will be opened automatically to allow you to leave with your luggage.
